Robert Dexter, Q.C. is President of The Links at Brunello. Mr. Dexter is the Chairman and CEO of Maritime Travel Inc. which has over 90 travel shops and sales in excess of $350 million; and Chairman of Canadian International Capital Inc. As well, he serves as a director on: Bell Canada and BCE Inc., and High Liner Foods Inc.
Glen Dexter, BSC (Physics), MA (Mathematics) & LLB, is Chairman of The Links at Brunello and is President and CEO of Canadian International Capital Inc. with overall responsibility for its business. This company has raised over $500 million under Canada’s immigrant investor programs. Mr. Dexter, along with two other partners, founded what is now the largest sail manufacturing firm in Nova Scotia. Mr. Dexter practiced corporate law for 15 years with the law firm, Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales. Mr. Dexter is a director of Atlantic Industrial Minerals, a publicly traded company that produces and sells limestone in Nova Scotia; and is Chairman of Medusa Medical Technologies, Inc., a healthcare related software company.
Andrew Giles P.Eng., NSLS is the Vice President of Development for The Links at Brunello. Prior to this, Andrew’s 25 years of experience in the local real estate development industry, enabled him to gain an expertise in all aspects of real estate development, municipal engineering design and land surveying. Andrew was instrumental in delivering numerous development projects to the Halifax area as well as other parts of Atlantic Canada. Some of these projects include Kingswood North, Royale Hemlocks and Governors Brook.
Throughout Andrew’s development career, he has maintained and developed long standing relationships with HRM and other approval agencies as well as the home building community. Andrew’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from UNB Fredericton, a Diploma in Land Survey Technology from the College of Geographic Sciences and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng), and a licensed land surveyor (NSLS).
Mike MacNeil, General Manager, The Links at Brunello. Originally from Cape Breton Island, NS, Mike spent the last 13 years working at Big Sky Golf Club in Pemberton, BC, most recently as General Manager. Mike’s love for the game started at the age of thirteen when he started playing golf with his father at Lingan Golf & Country Club. Mike quickly found his passion for the game that is still is an important part of his life today.
Mike’s business education began at Cape Breton University in 2002. Mike then attended Holland College in 2006, where he attended the Golf Management program. He became a member of the PGA of British Columbia in 2011 and has been working in the industry since 2002.
Joel Amirault, Superintendent, The Links at Brunello. Originally from Digby, Nova Scotia, Joel started out in the turf industry at Digby Pines Golf Course. After a few seasons at Digby Pines, he moved on to Grandview Golf Course in Dartmouth where he enrolled in the Turf Management Program at the University of Guelph. Once the construction of Brunello was underway, Joel made his way to Timberlea and is now in his 10th season at The Links at Brunello. Joel is very excited to take on the role of Superintendent and continue to provide a first class golf experience for our residents and guests.
Tom McBroom – The Golf Course architect is Thomas McBroom Associates Ltd. of Toronto, designer of premier golf courses across Canada and around the world. Tom McBroom is particularly suited to design a course for Brunello Estates’ varied topography because his designs have a reputation of capturing the unique character of the landscape so each course possesses its own personality, charm and playing experience. Tom McBroom has designed over forty completed premier courses over the past twenty years. In 2006, SCORE Golf Magazine included 12 McBroom designed courses in the top 100 golf courses in Canada. The Ridge at Manitou course in Ontario was named the best new Canadian course in 2006 by Golf Digest Magazine, and his new golf course in Kytaja, Finland was named one of the 10 best new courses in the world by Travel & Leisure Magazine in 2004.
Deanna Skinner, B.Comm., is Vice President of Marketing for Maritime Travel. Education includes studying Fashion Marketing at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, Toronto, followed by obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing Major at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. Prior to joining Maritime Travel, Deanna was the owner and operator of Lady Deanna Fashions, a small upscale ladies fashion boutique, for over seven years before selling the company. Her current position includes the responsibility for the marketing, along with the design and store construction of Maritime Travel’s 90+ retail locations nationwide. www.maritimetravel.ca
Laura Quartermain is the Chief Financial Officer Canadian International Capital Inc. After graduating with distinction from Mount Allison University, Laura spent 13 years with Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneurial Services practice in Toronto assisting clients in the manufacturing, services and technology sectors, and managing Ontario’s Entrepreneur Of The Year Program. She then joined Onex Corporation where she served as the Director of Finance for G.W. Schwartz’ group of companies, before moving to Halifax.
